March 2007: Tenor sax player Sean Behling joins 1881.
Played his first show with 1881 on 3/31/07 at The Mosaic in Milwaukee
to a full-house crowd.
May 2006: Plays live on 91.7FM
WMSE in Milwaukee.
November 2005: "All That Matters" and "Organ-ize"
were chosen to feature in the independent film Defect,
which was selected to be screened at the Lake
Tahoe Film Festival.
October 11th, 2005: Erik of 1881 wins the Rock
102.1 WLUM Nine Inch Nails "Only" Remix Contest.
Erik's mix, "Only
- Exorcism Mix" is played multiple times during the day
on the station. Erik met with Trent Reznor and NIN
two days later in Madison before the concert at the Alliant Energy
Center.
August 2005: "Takin' Over" features in
the independent film, The
Gluttonator. 1881's Brian Molstad stared as the
title character and Erik Molstad acted as well and scored the
soundtrack
April 2003: Voted into the top-eight group of finalists in
Summerfest's
2003 Big Gig Competition.
February 2003: Featured on filesharing giant, Imesh.com.
Newly acquired fans then rack up over 1000 plays/downloads in
only two weeks from 1881's Mp3.com page.
January 2002: On MP3.com,
"Ask" off of 1881's LP, Brick & Mortar reaches the #17
spot for listens/downloads after its release in the Alternative
General category.
April 2001: Is nominated for a Wisconsin
Area Music Industry (WAMI) award for "Best New Band".
